The tour starts and proceed with a 30 minutes’ drive to Sarawak Cultural Village – ‘See Sarawak in Half a Day’ is a claim made by Sarawak Cultural Village, an unique award-winning living museum offering an excellent introduction to local cultures and lifestyles with the 48,000 square miles of Malaysia's most majestic State are condensed into just 17 acres. One leisurely stroll opens seven homes to the visitor, seven cultures, including the famous longhouses of Borneo. It’s popularly known as SCV, the Village is a “living museum” showcasing the seven major ethnic races of Sarawak; Iban, Bidayuh, Penan, Orang Ulu, Melanau, Malay and Chinese. Each ‘house’ is an exact replica of traditional dwellings down to the type of wood, landscaping and carvings with the various communities. Each building has a “storyteller” who is an expert in describing and interpreting traditional cultures and lifestyles. They will happily pose with you for photos. There are daily multi-cultural dance performances in the village’s own theatre.
