What You Will Do
This tour covers some very important attractions in Kandy city. The city lies in the midst of hills in the Kandy plateau, which crosses an area of tropical plantations, mainly tea. Kandy is both an administrative and religious city and is also the capital of the Central Province. During this visit you will visit the Spice Garden at Mawanella, Tea factory in Giragama, Temple of Tooth Relic, Market Square, Upper Lake Drive, Gem Lapidary, and the Wood Carving Center in Kandy with Lunch at Oak-ray restaurant.

You will be picked up around 6 am from your hotel in Colombo, Mount Lavinia or Negombo and then proceed to Kandy, en route visit Spice Garden in Mawanella and a Tea Factory in Giragama. For centuries, spices have been one of Sri Lanka’s most celebrated exports and are used for medicines and cosmetics as well as to flavor foods. You will sample scents and flavors such as cinnamon, ginger, pepper, vanilla and cardamom. Batik is the ancient art of mixing colors using wax as the main component and Sri Lanka is one of the world’s leading exponents. Examples range from simple, single-colored designs to multi-colored masterpieces.
