What You Will Do
Indulge in a uniquely Croatian culinary delight: Peka. We will start you at village of Mokošica for a cooking class where you will learn this particular Dalmatian way of preparing food. You can then enjoy your peka meal, complemented by a glass of local wine. Vegetarian option available.

The Croation speciality Peka is a delicious option for lunch or dinner and, as this tour is flexible, you get to choose what time you eat! Named for the bell-like dome that meat and fresh veggies are cooked under, Peka is a hearty and delicious meat and vegetable dish. It may seem simple at first glance but cooking it requires great skill and experience. The domed lid, shaped like a cupola, can be made of metal or cast iron, but true connoisseurs prefer earthenware. Food is cooked underneath the Peka in a fireproof pot under the coals or directly on a stone slab. Food cooked under Peka, be it in a fireproof pot under the coals or directly on a stone slab, is a hearty meat and vegetable dish. Usually veal, lamb or yearling beef covered with potatoes and other vegetables. And of course, best enjoyed with a fantastic local red miljas wine! The program is offered in OPG Vukojević at Village Mokošica and starts when our guide picks you up at your hotel or private apartment.This program has been described, by our clients, as one of the most authentic culinary experiences in Europe!
