Endless is the list of things people in Split are proud of. One of them is water. The usual mantra is that city gets its running water from the aquaduct built by Diocletian, which is not completely true, but who cares. This aquaduct was renovated in 1860s, and yes, the route and the source of that water - river Jadro - is still the same like in Roman times. Still, water in Split is really good, much better than the bottled one.
