On the way to the Poás Volcano we will visit the Doka Coffee Plantation, to taste a delicious breakfast and a guided tour of the coffee plantation where we will learn about the current and ancient techniques used by experts to process our golden grain, and produce one of the best coffees of Costa Rica. Once the explanation of the coffee is finished, we will continue our way to the Poás Volcano. This 2708 meter (8000 ft) tall colossus is active, and you will not only admire its impressive crater and gas emanations, but you will also learn about its phreatic and fumarolic activity as well as the different ecosystems and exuberant vegetation found in this beautiful national park. We will continue our way to La Paz Waterfalls, when we arrive we will walk along a beautiful path, which leads to different attractions of the park including the aviary, the largest butterfly observatory in the country, the hummingbird gallery, the serpentarium, the exhibition of frogs, monkeys and cats. Eventually a delicious buffet-style lunch awaits us in the middle of the rainforest, at the end of lunch we will take a walk where we can visit three imposing natural waterfalls formed by the Rio La Paz itself.
